Our cipher book on privacy
Revised 2 November 2026
The short version of our cipher book
Glacierfernplay collects as little as possible. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms, no comment boxes, no analytics and no advertising trackers on the site. You can read every review and guide without telling us who you are.
The few things that are stored, and the one outside service the site relies on, are described below in plain language.
What stays in your own browser
Two small pieces of information are kept on your device using your browser’s localStorage: the list of games you add to your dispatch case, and the answer you gave to our cookie notice.
Both stay in your own browser. Nothing from them is sent to us, and we cannot see or retrieve them. Clearing your browser data, or the stored data for this site, removes them completely.
The typefaces, and who delivers them
The typefaces on Glacierfernplay are loaded from Google Fonts. To deliver those font files, Google receives your IP address and basic details about your browser, as happens whenever a page requests a file from another server.
Google handles that information under its own privacy policy. We receive nothing from it and use no other Google services on the site. If you prefer not to contact Google at all, a browser extension that blocks third-party fonts will still let you read every page, just in a fallback typeface.
When you email the editors
If you write to [email protected], we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.
We use that only to read and reply to you, and we keep it only as long as the conversation needs. We do not add you to a mailing list or share your message with anyone else. Once a thread has run its course, we delete it from the editors’ inbox.
Links to official game sites
Play buttons open each game’s official site in a new tab. Those sites are run by their publishers, who set their own privacy practices.
Once you arrive on a publisher’s site, its privacy policy governs what it collects, including anything needed to create an account or play. We encourage you to read it before signing up.
PIPEDA and what you can ask of us
Glacierfernplay follows the principles of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, which in practice can only be emails you have sent us, and ask us to correct or delete it.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Revisions to this page
If the way the site handles information ever changes, for instance if we add a new feature, we will update this page and its revision date before the change takes effect.
Questions about any of this are welcome at [email protected], and a real editor will answer.
